Defect

On large route buses, the engine ECU control software is incorrect, allowing peak combustion pressure to exceed the allowable limit for the connecting rod. Continued use in this condition may cause the connecting rod to crack. In the worst case, the connecting rod may fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable and causing a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

Reprogram the engine ECU control software on all vehicles with the corrected part.

状況
