Defect
Engine pistons on affected vehicles have insufficient strength in the piston ring groove area due to improper equipment conditions during the casting process. This allows a crack to develop in the groove, which may damage the engine while driving.
Corrective action
On vehicles with more than 50,000 km of mileage, inspect the engine. If piston damage is found, replace all cylinder pistons with corrected parts. On vehicles with 50,000 km or less, replace all cylinder pistons with corrected parts regardless of condition.

状況
原動機のピストンにおいて、鋳造工程の設備条件が不適切なため、ピストンリング溝部の強度が不足しているものがある。そのため、当該溝部に亀裂が生じ、走行中にエンジンが損傷するおそれがある。
改善措置
走行距離が5万kmを超える車両は、原動機を点検し、ピストンが損傷している場合は全気筒のピストンを対策品と交換する。また、走行距離が5万km以下の車両は、全気筒のピストンを対策品と交換する。
