Defect
On disc wheels used on heavy-duty trucks, improper die adjustment during rim forming causes the rim geometry to deviate, concentrating stress at the weld joint between the rim and disc and leaving the weld with insufficient strength. Continued use allows cracks to develop at the weld joint, and in the worst case, the disc wheel may fracture.
Corrective action
Inspect the manufacturing number of the disc wheel on all vehicles. Replace any affected disc wheels with conforming units.

状況
大型トラックのディスクホイールにおいて、リム成型時の金型調整が不適切なため、 リム形状が変化してリムとディスクの溶接部に応力集中が発生し、溶接部の強度が 不足しているものがある。そのため、長期間使用すると溶接部に亀裂が入り、最悪の場合、ディスクホイールが破損するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ディスクホイールの製造番号を点検し、対象となるものは良品に交換する。
