Defect
The electric water pump that cools the fuel cell system uses motor magnets with an inadequate surface treatment, allowing coolant to corrode the magnets. As corrosion progresses, the electric water pump ceases to operate. This may cause warning lamps and warning messages to illuminate when power mode is engaged and prevent the fuel cell system from starting, or, during driving, cause warning lamps and warning messages to illuminate and shut down the fuel cell system. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the electric water pump with a corrected part.

状況
燃料電池システムを冷却する電動ウォータポンプにおいて、駆動用モータの磁石の表面処理が不適切なため、冷却水により磁石が腐食することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると腐食が進行し、電動ウォータポンプが作動しなくなり、パワーモードオン時に警告灯、警告表示が点灯し、燃料電池システムが起動しない。または、走行中に警告灯、警告表示が点灯し、燃料電池システムが停止して、最悪の場合、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、電動ウォータポンプを対策品と交換する
