Defect
In the transmission of large buses, the shift unit housing resonates at specific high-load engine speeds, which can cause cracks to develop in the housing. Continued use allows oil to leak through the cracked area and, in the worst case, causes transmission seizure, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, a retaining bracket is added to the shift unit, and the housing is inspected for cracks. If cracks are found, the complete shift unit assembly is replaced with a new unit.

状況
大型バスのトランスミッションにおいて、高負荷の特定のエンジン回転で、シフトユニットハウジングが共振し、ハウジングに亀裂が入ることがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、亀裂部よりオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、トランスミッションが焼き付き、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、シフトユニットに固定金具を追加するとともに、ハウジングの亀裂を点検し、亀裂が生じていた場合はシフトユニット一式を新品に交換する。
