Defect
On heavy-duty trucks, the flexible pipe in the exhaust system is improperly designed, causing the bellows section to contact and wear against the inner pipe during normal driving vibration. Continued use allows the wear to progress until the pipe is perforated. In the worst case, exhaust gas may leak from the pipe.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the exhaust pipe with the corrected part. On a portion of vehicles, also replace the exhaust brake pipe, steering pipe, and brake pipes with redesigned parts.

状況
大型トラックにおいて、排気管のフレキシブルパイプの構造が不適切なため、走行時の振動によりフレキシブルパイプのベローズが内管と干渉し、摩耗するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると摩耗が進行して穴があき、最悪の場合、排気ガスが漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、排気管を対策品に交換する。また、一部の車両においては、排気ブレーキパイプ、パワーステアリングパイプ、ブレーキパイプを形状変更したものに交換する。
