Defect
In the starter assembly, the current-flow setting for the starter drive relay is incorrect, allowing silver deposits to accumulate on the contact points. Continued use causes the silver deposits to detach and become lodged inside the circuit, holding the relay in a continuously energized state and keeping the starter motor spinning. In the worst case, this may result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the relay with a corrected part and replace the starter motor with a new unit.

状況
始動装置のスタータにおいて、スタータ駆動用リレーの通電設定が不適切なため、接点部に銀成分が凝集するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、接点部から銀成分がはがれ落ち、回路内に挟まると当該リレーが通電状態となりスタータが回転し続け、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該リレーを対策品と交換するとともにスタータを新品と交換する。
