Defect

On certain vehicles, the snap ring that secures the output shaft and ball bearing of the transmission clutch pack was omitted during assembly. When installed in the vehicle, the output shaft was pushed inward, eliminating internal clearance within the clutch pack. This causes components to rub against each other, generating wear debris that clogs the hydraulic circuit. Continued use may cause the transmission to malfunction and, in the worst case, render the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

Inspect all vehicles to confirm the snap ring is installed. If the snap ring is missing, measure the amount the output shaft has been pushed inward. If within the specified limit, install the snap ring only. If beyond the specified limit, replace the entire clutch pack with a new unit. Because the earliest clutch pack delivery date is expected to be the end of January 2014, install the snap ring as a temporary repair and perform the full repair once parts are available.

状況

トランスミッション内部のクラッチパックのアウトプットシャフトとボールベアリングを固定するスナップリングを組み忘れたまま車載したものがあり、車載の際アウトプットシャフトが押し込まれ、クラッチパック内部のクリアランスが無くなる場合がある。そのため、部品同士が擦れ摩耗粉が発生し、油圧回路が目詰まりし、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、トランスミッションが作動不良を起こし、最悪の場合、走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、スナップリング組み付け有無を確認する。組み忘れていた場合、アウトプットシャフトの押し込まれ量を確認し、規定量以内の場合はスナップリングのみ組み付け、規定量以上の場合は、クラッチパックを新品と交換するが、クラッチパックの最短納期が平成26年1月末の予定であるので、スナップリング組み付けにて仮復旧し、正式改修は部品が揃い次第実施する。
