Defect

On vehicles equipped with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission, the Hydrostatic Clutch Actuator (HCA) software is incorrectly programmed. The sensor that detects piston travel used to control clutch engagement force may produce erroneous readings. The system then identifies this as an internal HCA fault, causing the transmission warning lamp on the meter display to flash and a "Check Transmission" message to illuminate. As a result, the vehicle may lose the ability to move forward or reverse.

Corrective action

Reprogram the Hydrostatic Clutch Actuator (HCA) on all vehicles.
