Defect
On vehicles equipped with a 7-speed DCT-type automatic transmission (Dual Clutch Transmission), the automatic transmission control computer software is incorrect. When the vehicle is stopped in motor-drive mode, the dog and sleeve inside the transmission may fail to engage. This causes the transmission warning lamp to flash and an inspection message to appear on the meter display. If 1st gear fails to engage, the vehicle may be unable to pull away. If 2nd gear fails to engage, the vehicle may be restricted to odd-numbered gear shifts only.
Corrective action
Reprogram the automatic transmission control computer with the corrected/updated software on all vehicles.
