Defect
The engine speed sensor has insufficient heat resistance. Repeated thermal loading under high-load operating conditions may cause a broken wire in the sensor. When a disconnection occurs, the engine control system activates a control mode to prevent stall; however, depending on driving conditions, the control response may be insufficient, causing the engine to stall and requiring extended time to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the engine control software is reprogrammed to a corrected specification that prevents engine stall even when the sensor wire is broken. Because the broken wire will still illuminate a warning lamp, the sensor will subsequently be replaced with a corrected part once revised parts become available.

状況
原動機において、エンジン回転センサの耐熱性が不足しているため、高負荷条件下での熱負荷の繰り返しにより当該センサが断線することがある。断線した場合は、フェールセーフにより、エンストしないように制御するが、走行条件によっては、制御が間に合わずにエンストして、再始動に時間がかかることがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該エンジン制御プログラムを対策仕様に書き換えることで、当該センサの断線時でもエンストが発生しないように対策する。エンストは防げるものの、当該センサが断線して警告灯が点灯する可能性があるため、後日対策品の準備が整いしだい順次、当該センサを対策品と交換する。
