Defect
On plug-in hybrid vehicles, the fail-safe control program in the hybrid controller is incorrect. If the brake position sensor fails while a communication fault already exists between the engine controller and the hybrid controller, the regenerative brake control fail-safe may not operate correctly. Rather than inhibiting regenerative braking as designed, the system may apply regenerative braking even when the brake pedal is not depressed, causing the vehicle to decelerate unexpectedly while driving.
Corrective action
Reprogram the control software on all vehicles with the corrected program.

状況
２． プラグインハイブリッド仕様において、ハイブリッドコントローラのフェイルセーフの制御プログラムが不適切であるため、エンジンコントローラとハイブリッドコントローラが通信不良となった状態でブレーキポジションセンサが故障した場合、回生ブレーキ制御のフェイルセーフが正常に作動しないことがある。そのため、本来、回生ブレーキの作動が禁止されるところを、ブレーキを踏んでいないのに回生ブレーキが掛かり、走行中に減速するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該制御プログラムを修正する。
