Defect
On vehicles equipped with a regenerative DPF, the brake air tube, parking brake cable, and transmission cable routed near the exhaust pipe may reach excessive temperatures. Continued use under these conditions can cause the air tube and cables to melt, resulting in reduced braking force, parking brake malfunction, and degraded transmission operability.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the brake air tube, parking brake cable, and transmission cable with corrected parts.
