Defect
On compressed natural gas vehicles, an incorrect engine control unit program (previously addressed under recall notification No. 1893) caused excessive current to flow through transistors inside the electrical drive unit (EDU) that operates the throttle motor and fuel injectors, degrading those transistors. Continued use may cause a transistor to burn out, disabling the fuel injection system. In the worst case, the engine stalls during driving and cannot be restarted.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the EDU with a new unit.

状況
圧縮天然ガス自動車において、エンジンの電子制御コントローラのプログラムが不適切であったため（対策済みリコール届出番号１８９３）、スロットルモーターと燃料噴射装置を駆動する電気駆動装置（ＥＤＵ）内のトランジスタに過大な電流が流れ、トランジスタが劣化しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、トランジスタが溶断し、燃料噴射装置が作動しなくなり、最悪の場合、走行中にエンストし、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ＥＤＵを新品に交換する。
