Defect
The bolts securing the front drum brake backing plate to the axle were tightened with insufficient torque, causing some bolts to loosen during brake operation. Continued use allows the bolts to fall out and, in the worst case, the displaced bolts damage the wheel cylinder—a brake system component—resulting in brake failure.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the mounting bolts with new ones, apply thread-locking compound, and torque to the specified value.

状況
前輪ドラムブレーキのバックプレートを車軸に取り付けるボルトの締め付けトルクが不足しているため、ブレーキ操作時にボルトが緩むものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ボルトが脱落し、最悪の場合、脱落したボルトによりブレーキ構成部品であるホイールシリンダが破損し、ブレーキが効かなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、取り付けボルトを新品に交換し、緩み防止剤を塗布して適正トルクに締付けを行う。
