Defect
The engine control unit software is incorrectly programmed. When the mass airflow sensor measuring intake air volume, or the throttle position sensor measuring throttle valve opening, develops a fault, no warning lamp illuminates to alert the driver.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit software.
