Defect

An improper machining process on the inner surface of the connecting rod small-end bore leaves the bush press-fit surface rough on some engines. Continued operation causes the bush to crack and fracture. In the worst case, the connecting rod may break, causing the engine to stall.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the complete engine assembly with a conforming unit.

状況

原動機のコンロッド小端部内面の加工工程が不適切なため、当該小端部のブッシュ圧入部の表面が粗くなっているものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、ブッシュに亀裂が生じ、破損することがあり、最悪の場合、コンロッドが破損してエンジンが停止するおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、エンジン一式を良品と交換する。
