Defect
In the spring-type parking brake system, the material used for a portion of the pipe (elbow section) connecting the spring chamber to the service brake chamber is inappropriate. Over time, this causes the elbow to crack, allowing water to enter the spring chamber and rust the spring. The spring may then fracture, damaging the diaphragm and causing an air leak. In the worst case, the parking brake may engage while the vehicle is in motion. (This recall supplements notification number 1689, filed June 29, 2006, by adding additional affected vehicles — 2001 model year tractors — due to an error in the original vehicle selection.)
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the elbow section with the corrected part.

状況
スプリング式駐車制動装置において、スプリング室とサービスブレーキ室とを連結する配管の一部（エルボ部）の材質が不適切なため、経時劣化により亀裂が発生し、スプリング室に水が浸入し、スプリングが錆びることがある。そのため、スプリングが折損し、ダイヤフラムが損傷してエアが漏れ、最悪の場合、走行中駐車ブレーキが作動するおそれがある。 本件は、平成１８年６月２９日付け「届出番号１６８９」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車両の選定に誤りがあったため、対象車両（２００１年式トラクタ）を追加し、新たに届出するものです。
改善措置
全車両、エルボ部を対策品と交換する。
