Defect
In the spring-type parking brake system, the screw securing the water-intrusion prevention cap was improperly driven during assembly. This allows water to enter the spring chamber and rust the spring. The spring may then fracture, damaging the diaphragm and causing an air leak. In the worst case, the parking brake may engage while the vehicle is in motion. (This recall supplements notification number 1689, filed June 29, 2006, by adding additional affected vehicles — 2001 model year tractors — due to an error in the original vehicle selection.)
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the manufacturing location mark on the parking brake chamber. On affected units, apply adhesive to the screw section. If rust is found inside the spring chamber, replace the parking brake chamber (piggyback) with a conforming unit.

状況
スプリング式駐車制動装置において、水浸入防止キャップを保持するネジの打ち込み作業が不適切なため、スプリング室に水が浸入し、スプリングが錆びることがある。そのため、スプリングが折損し、ダイヤフラムが損傷してエアが漏れ、最悪の場合、走行中駐車ブレーキが作動するおそれがある。 備考：本件は、平成１８年６月２９日付け「届出番号１６８９」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車両の選定に誤りがあったため、対象車両（２００１年式トラクタ）を追加し、新たに届出するものです。
改善措置
全車両、駐車ブレーキチャンバの製造場所マークを確認し、該当するものは、ネジ部に接着剤を塗布する。なお、スプリング室内部に錆のあるものは、駐車ブレーキチャンバ（ピギーバック）を良品と交換する。
