Defect
On large touring buses, the engine control unit software is improperly calibrated, causing increased black smoke emissions during gradual acceleration. Continued use leads to heavy soot accumulation in the particulate matter removal device cleaner. In the worst case, cleaner temperature rises excessively during forced regeneration, damaging the device and causing exhaust emissions to exceed the regulatory limit.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit. Additionally, inspect the particulate matter removal device and replace it with a new part if damage is found.

状況
大型観光バスにおいて、⑤原動機制御コンピュータのプログラムが不適切なため、緩加速時に黒煙排出量が増加することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、粒子状物質除去装置のクリーナに煤が大量に堆積し、最悪の場合、強制再生時にクリーナの温度が上昇し、装置が損傷して排出ガス値が基準を超えるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、⑤原動機制御コンピュータのプログラムを書き変える。また、点検を行い粒子状物質除去装置が損傷しているものは新品と交換する。
