Defect
On fire trucks, the mounting hole position in the flywheel housing used to attach the engine's power steering pump is incorrectly located. As a result, there may be no backlash between the power steering pump gear and the air compressor gear that meshes with it. This causes gear damage and abnormal noise. Continued operation may, in the worst case, fracture the power steering pump shaft, increasing steering effort to a level that does not comply with the applicable Safety Standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the power steering pump assembly with a corrected part, and replace the air compressor gear and gear case.

状況
消防車において、エンジンのパワーステアリングポンプを取り付けるフライホイールハウジングの穴位置が不適切なため、パワーステアリングポンプギヤと当該ギヤに噛み合うエアコンプレッサギヤのバックラッシがないものがある。そのため、当該ギヤが損傷して異音が発生し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、パワーステアリングポンプシャフトが折損し、操舵力が増大して基準に適合しないおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、パワーステアリングポンプ一式を対策品に交換するとともに、エアコンプレッサギヤ並びにギヤケースを交換する。
