Defect
The ignition switch contact design is inadequate, allowing arc discharge to occur between the contacts. The heat from arcing melts the resin contact plate. Continued operation allows molten resin to migrate between the contacts, causing a continuity failure. As a result, lighting circuits stop functioning and the engine stalls and cannot be restarted.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the ignition switch contact plate set with the corrected part.

状況
イグニッションスイッチにおいて、接点の構造が不適切なため、接点間にアーク放電が発生し、その熱により樹脂製の接点板が溶損するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、溶けた樹脂が接点間に入り込み導通不良の状態となり、灯火類が点灯しなくなるとともに、エンジンが停止して再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、イグニッションスイッチの接点板セットを対策品に交換する。
