Defect
The control software in the electronic control unit (ECU) governing shift control of the automated mechanical transmission is incorrect. After driving in the drive range and coming to a stop without pressing the clutch pedal, the clutch automatically disengages. If the brake is not applied, the vehicle may begin to creep at very low speed on a downhill grade or similar condition. The ECU then misidentifies this movement as normal driving and automatically re-engages the clutch, causing the vehicle to accelerate unintentionally.
Corrective action
Replace the ECU with a corrected part. Because corrected parts require time to procure, an interim measure applies: affix a driver caution placard listing vehicle stopping precautions to the gear shift lever area of the vehicle.

状況
機械式自動変速機の変速を制御している電子制御機器(ECU)の制御プログラムが不適切 なため、ドライブレンジで走行後、そのままの状態でクラッチペダルを踏まずに停止した 場合、クラッチが自動で切れた状態となっているため、ブレーキを操作していないと下り 坂等により極低速で車両が動き出すことがあり、その状態をECUが通常走行になったと 誤認識し、クラッチが自動的に接続され、車両が発進するおそれがある。
改善措置
当該ECUを対策品と交換する。 なお、対策品の供給に時間を要することから、車両停車時の注意事項を記載した運転注意 銘板を、車両のギヤシフトレバー部に貼り付ける。
