Defect

On turbocharged manual transmission vehicles, the oil control valve (OCV) cover mounting bolt — which controls intake valve timing hydraulically — has insufficient axial clamping force. Sustained high-load, high-rpm operation increases negative pressure inside the engine, which deforms the OCV gasket and further reduces bolt clamping force. As a result, the bolt may loosen and engine oil may leak. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may result.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, retighten the affected bolt to the specified torque.

状況

 ターボチャージャー付手動変速機車両において、エンジン吸気バルブ開閉タイミングを 油圧で制御するためのオイルコントロールバルブ(OCV)のカバー締付ボルトの軸力が低 いため、高負荷高回転を継続して使用した場合、エンジン内部の負圧が増大し、OCVのガ スケットの変形により当該ボルトの軸力が更に低下することがある。そのため、当該ボル トが緩みエンジンオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

 全車両、当該ボルトを増し締めする。
