Defect

The upper frame-mounting bolt for the right front shock absorber bracket was not installed on some vehicles. Continued use causes the bracket to deform under shock absorber operation. In the worst case, the deformed bracket contacts the power steering oil pipe, perforating it. The resulting power steering fluid leak causes loss of steering control.

Corrective action

① Inspect all vehicles. If the upper frame-mounting bolt for the shock absorber bracket is missing, replace the bracket with a new part and install the missing bolt. ② On all vehicles, inspect the power steering oil pipe for contact marks and replace the pipe with a new part if any are found.

状況

緩衝装置において、右前ショックアブソーバーブラケットの車枠取り付上側ボルトが取付 けられていないものがあるため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ショックアブソーバ ーの作動により当該ブラケットが変形し、最悪の場合、ショックアブソーバーブラケット とパワーステアリング用のオイルパイプが干渉してパイプに穴があき、パワーステアリン グ作動オイルが漏れてハンドル操作ができなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

①全車両点検し、ショックアブソーバーブラケットの車枠取付ボルトが取り付けられてい  ない場合は、当該ブラケットを新品に交換するとともにボルトを取り付ける。 ②全車両、パワーステアリング用のオイルパイプを点検し、干渉痕がある場合は、オイル パイプを新品に交換する。
