Defect
The wiring for the engine intake air preheating system is improperly routed and secured to the top of the engine, allowing the wiring to contact adjacent components. Continued use damages the insulation, causing the conductor core to generate heat and emit smoke. In the worst case, the insulation may catch fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the affected wiring. Where insulation is undamaged, add a clamp to secure the wiring. Where contact marks are present on the insulation, repair the insulation and add a protective cover and clamp. Where significant short-circuit marks are present on the conductor core, replace the wiring with a corrected part and add a clamp.

状況
エンジン吸入空気予熱装置の配線において、エンジン上面への取付方法に不適切なものが あるため、付近の部品と接触するものがあり、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、被覆が 損傷し、当該配線の芯線が発熱して被覆から発煙し、最悪の場合、被覆が燃えるおそれが ある。
改善措置
全車両、当該配線を点検し、被覆に損傷のないものはクランプを追加する。 被覆に接触痕のあるものは、被覆を補修し保護カバー及びクランプを追加する。 芯線に著しい短絡痕のあるものは、配線を良品と交換しクランプを追加する。
