Defect
On compressed natural gas vehicles, the pressure relief valve designed to vent fuel and reduce tank pressure when the fuel tank is heated has an improper design. When the valve is exposed to high temperatures during refueling in hot ambient conditions, it may activate below the specified temperature threshold and release fuel prematurely.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the pressure relief valve with the corrected part.
