Defect
The anti-vibration rubber mounts that retain the two stays supporting the handlebar have insufficient hardness. Repeatedly applying excessive torsional force between the handlebar stays — such as gripping one side of the handlebar and dragging the front wheel laterally — concentrates stress at the wiring routing opening at the lower center of the handlebar, causing cracks to develop. Continued use may cause the handlebar to deform, resulting in unstable steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the handlebar and replace it with a new part if cracks are found. Additionally, replace the anti-vibration rubber mounts with corrected parts on all vehicles.
