Issue
The thrust bearing material used in the belt auto-tensioner — which maintains tension in the engine accessory drive belt — is incorrect. Wear of the thrust bearing causes the auto-tensioner to break, allowing the accessory drive belt to detach. This disables the alternator and the hydraulic steering pump, illuminating the charge warning light and increasing steering effort.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the auto-tensioner and replace any affected unit with a corrected part.

状況
エンジンの補機駆動用ベルトの張力を維持するベルトオートテンショナーのスラストワ ッシャーの材質が不適切なため、スラストワッシャーの摩滅によりオートテンショナーが 破損し、補機駆動用ベルトが外れ、発電機及びパワーステアリング用油圧ポンプが作動し なくなるものがある。そのため、充電警告灯が点灯するとともに、ハンドル操作力が増大 するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該オートテンショナーを点検し、対象となるものは対策品に交換する。
