Defect
The engine control unit contains an improperly designed control program. Certain operations immediately after engine start—such as shutting the engine off—can apply a reverse-rotation force to the engine, causing lubricating oil inside the vacuum pump to flow backward and damaging internal components. This compromises brake booster effectiveness, reducing braking force and extending stopping distance.
Corrective action
Reprogram the engine control unit on all vehicles to the corrected software specification.

状況
エンジン制御用コンピュータにおいて、制御プログラムが不適切なため、始動直後にエンジンを停止する等の操作により、エンジンに逆回転方向の力が加わり、バキュームポンプ内の潤滑油が逆流して構成部品が損傷することがある。そのため、倍力作用が損なわれて制動停止距離が伸びるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジン制御用コンピュータのプログラムを対策仕様に修正する。
