Defect
In the passenger-side airbag inflator, the weld at the filter joint is improper. During airbag deployment, the filter joint may detach and the outer casing may fracture, preventing sufficient gas from being supplied to the airbag. As a result, the airbag may fail to deploy correctly in a frontal collision, exposing the occupant to excessive injury.
Corrective action
All vehicles: replace the passenger-side airbag assembly with a non-defective unit.

状況
助手席用エアバッグにおいて、膨張ガス発生装置内のフィルター接合部の溶接が不適切 なため、エアバッグ展開時にフィルター接合部が剥がれて、外筒が破損する場合があり、 膨張ガスが十分供給できないため、前面衝突時に当該エアバッグが正常に展開せず、乗員 が過度な障害を受けるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、助手席用エアバッグ装置を良品と交換する。
