Defect

On large trucks equipped with an electronically controlled compressed air dryer, the air dryer regeneration program in the central chassis input/output module is incorrect. As a result, the desiccant regeneration cycle does not execute at the required frequency, reducing the desiccant's moisture absorption capacity. High-humidity compressed air then condenses inside the tank and air system circuits, generating moisture accumulation. Continued operation under these conditions may cause vehicle height adjustment malfunctions. In the worst case, when ambient temperature falls below freezing, condensate in the trailer-side brake circuit may freeze, causing the trailer service brakes to fail to apply or the parking brake to drag, leading to a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reprogram the central chassis input/output module with the corrected updated software. If warning messages indicating a service brake abnormality or vehicle height adjustment system abnormality are displayed, perform fault diagnosis, replace the affected parts, and purge the air lines.

状況

大型トラックの電制エアドライヤーにおいて、セントラルシャシ入出力モジュールのエアドライヤー再生プログラムが不適切なため、当該ドライヤー乾燥再生動作が適切な頻度で実行されず乾燥剤の吸湿能力の低下により、高湿度圧縮空気がエアタンク及び各エアシステム回路内で結露し凝縮水が生成される。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、凝縮水の影響により車高調整不良等が発生することがある。最悪の場合、外気温が氷点下の環境において、(1) トレーラー側ブレーキ回路内で凝縮水が凍結し、トレーラー側の主ブレーキが効かない、または駐車ブレーキ引きずりにより火災に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、セントラルシャシ入出力モジュールのプログラムを、対策プログラムに書き換える。なお、主ブレーキ異常および車高調整システム異常の警告メッセージが表示されている場合は、故障診断を行い該当する部品を交換し、エア配管内をエアパージする。
