Defect
In the electric parking brake system, the specified grease application quantity and the reservoir cavity volume inside the electric parking brake actuator are set incorrectly. Repeated driving and stopping on inclines allows oil components from the accumulated grease to migrate into the motor interior, where they mix with wear debris and form electrically conductive contaminants. If the vehicle continues to be used in this condition, the contaminants may adhere to the motor terminals, causing a short circuit in the motor circuit. This activates the warning lamp and may cause the parking brake to become inoperative or prevent it from releasing.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace both the left and right electric parking brake actuators with corrected parts.

状況
電動パーキングブレーキにおいて、電動パーキングブレーキアクチュエータ内部ギヤ潤滑用のグリス塗布量及び当該グリス溜まり部容積の設定が不適切なため、登坂路での走行や停車を繰り返すと、溜まり部に溜まったグリスのオイル成分がモータ内部に侵入し、モータ内の摩耗粉と混ざり、導電性の異物が生成されることがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用すると、異物がモータターミナルに付着し、モータ回路が短絡して、警告灯が点灯するとともに駐車ブレーキが作動しなくなる、または、解除できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、左右電動パーキングブレーキアクチュエータを対策品と交換する。
