Defect
The supply-side rubber hose of the hydraulic power steering system has insufficient heat resistance. Heat radiated from the exhaust catalytic converter causes the rubber hose to deteriorate and lose flexibility. Hydraulic pressure fluctuations during steering input then crack the hose, allowing power steering fluid to leak. In the worst case, the leaking fluid contacts the exhaust pipe and causes a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the power steering supply-side rubber hose with the corrected part.

状況
油圧式パワーステアリングの供給側ゴム製配管の耐熱性が不足しているため、排気管の触媒コンバータの熱でゴム製配管が劣化して柔軟性が低下するものがある。そのため、ハンドル転舵時の油圧変動でゴム製配管に亀裂が生じてパワーステアリングオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、排気管に付着し火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、パワーステアリングの供給側ゴム製配管を対策品と交換する。
