Defect
During the welding process for the bracket that secures the steering gear to the vehicle body, prototype parts produced for pre-production preparation were improperly dispositioned and may have been mixed into production units. During steering operation, the weld on the affected bracket may separate, producing an abnormal noise. In the worst case, the steering column position may drop suddenly, making the vehicle difficult to control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the body parts, including the affected bracket, with conforming parts. Until the replacement is performed, notify vehicle owners of the precautions to observe while driving.

状況
車体にかじとり装置を固定するブラケット(金具)の溶接工程において、生産準備のために試作した部品の処置が不適切なため、正規品の中に混入した可能性がある。そのため、ハンドル操作時に当該溶接部が剥がれて、異音が発生し、最悪の場合、ハンドル位置が急激に下がって操作が困難になるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ブラケットを含む車体部品を良品に交換する。また、良品と交換するまでの間、運転時の注意事項を使用者に周知する。
