Defect
On vehicles equipped with a truck-mounted crane, the clearance between the transmission cross member and the crane mounting bolts—through which the parking brake cable is routed—is insufficient on some units. Contact between the parking brake cable and the cross member or mounting bolts damages the cable's outer sheath, restricting movement of the inner wire. Continued use in this condition may cause the parking brake to become inoperative.
Corrective action
Inspect the parking brake cable on all vehicles. (1) Where clearance is insufficient, add a stopper to the mounting bolt. (2) Where clearance is extremely insufficient, relocate the mounting bolt rearward to secure adequate clearance; if rearward relocation is not possible, reroute the parking brake cable. (3) Where contact marks are present on the parking brake cable, replace the cable with a new unit.

状況
積載形トラッククレーン搭載車において、駐車ブレーキケーブルの配索経路であるトランスミッションクロスメンバとクレーンの架装ボルトの隙間が少ないものがある。そのため、当該駐車ブレーキケーブルがクロスメンバや架装ボルトと接触し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該駐車ブレーキケーブルの外装が損傷し芯線の動きを妨げ、駐車ブレーキが作動しなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該駐車ブレーキケーブルを点検し、 ①当該隙間が少ない場合は、架装ボルトのストッパを追加する。 ②当該隙間が極めて少ない場合は、架装ボルトを後方移設し隙間を確保する。なお、架装ボルトを後方に移設できない場合は、当該駐車ブレーキケーブルの配索を変更する。 ③当該駐車ブレーキケーブルに接触痕のある場合は、当該駐車ブレーキケーブルを新品に交換する。
