Defect
The spring lower seat that retains the front coil spring in the suspension is improperly shaped, allowing sand and debris to accumulate between the spring and the seat. This causes the spring's paint coating to peel and rust to develop. Continued use allows road salt and de-icing agents to accelerate rust progression until the spring fractures. In the worst case, the tire may burst, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
Replace the front strut assembly with the corrected/revised part on all vehicles.

状況
緩衝装置の前輪用コイルスプリングを保持するスプリングロアーシートの形状が不適切なため、当該スプリングとロアーシートの間に入った砂等によりスプリングの塗装が剥れて錆が発生するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、融雪剤等により錆が進行してスプリングが折損し、最悪の場合、タイヤがバーストして走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前輪用ストラット一式を対策品と交換する。
