Defect

On automatic transmission-equipped vehicles, the oil line routing from the automatic transmission oil cooler to the transmission is improperly secured, causing the line to resonate with engine vibration. Continued use may cause a crack to develop at the joint connection, leading to an oil leak and loss of shift control. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, add a clamp to the affected oil line and replace it with a redesigned line.
