Defect
On three-axle vehicles with rear two-axle drive, the breather hose on the spring-type parking brake chamber is incorrectly positioned. When driving through flooded roads or water crossings, water enters the spring chamber through the breather hose port, causing the spring to rust. The corroded spring may fracture, damaging the diaphragm and causing an air leak. In the worst case, the parking brake may apply unintentionally while the vehicle is in motion.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the parking brake chamber. If rust is found inside the spring chamber, replace the chamber assembly (piggyback type) with a corrected part. If no rust is found and the unit is within the specified periodic replacement interval, relocate the breather to the correct position. If no rust is found but the unit is outside the specified periodic replacement interval, periodic replacement is recommended.

状況
後２軸駆動の３軸車のスプリング式駐車制動装置において、ブリーザホースの取り付け位置が不適切なため、浸水路等を走行した際、当該ホース部から、スプリング室に水が浸入し、スプリングが錆びることがある。そのため、スプリングが折損し、ダイヤフラムが損傷してエアが漏れ、最悪の場合、走行中駐車ブレーキが作動するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、駐車ブレーキチャンバを点検し、スプリング室内部に錆のあるものは、当該チャンバ（ピギーバック）を対策品と交換する。また、規定の定期交換期間内で錆のないものは、ブリーザ位置を変更する。なお、規定の定期交換期間外で錆のないものは、定期交換を推奨する。
