Defect
In the spring-type parking brake chamber, the retaining screw that holds the water-exclusion cap is improperly shaped, allowing water to enter the spring cavity and cause the spring to rust. The spring may then fracture and damage the diaphragm, causing an air leak. In the worst case, the parking brake applies while the vehicle is in motion. (Note: This matter was previously reported under Recall Notification No. 1715, dated September 5, 2006. Because certain vehicle models were omitted from that campaign, additional affected vehicles are now being added under this new notification.)
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the manufacturing location mark on the parking brake chamber. On applicable units, inspect the spring cavity; if rust is found, replace the chamber with a serviceable unit. Apply adhesive to the screw threads on all vehicles.

状況
スプリング式駐車制動装置において、水浸入防止キャップを保持するネジの形状が不適切なため、スプリング室に水が浸入し、スプリングが錆びることがある。そのため、スプリングが折損し、ダイヤフラムが損傷してエアが漏れ、最悪の場合、走行中駐車ブレーキが作動するおそれがある。 （備考）本案件は、リコール「届出番号１７１５（平成１８年９月５日）」にて届出を行ったものですが、対象車種の選定漏れがあったため、対象車両を追加して、新たに届出をするものです。
改善措置
全車両、駐車ブレーキチャンバの製造場所マークを確認し、該当するものは点検を行い、スプリング室内部に錆のあるものは、当該チャンバを良品と交換する。また、全車両ネジ部に接着剤を塗布する。
