Defect
The lock pin in the backrest locking mechanism of the folding seat mounted at the wheelchair securement area of passenger buses has insufficient strength. If the backrest is raised from its folded position using incorrect operation, the lock pin may deform. As a result, when the backrest is raised, the lock pin may fail to engage, leaving the backrest unsecured. In the worst case, if a passenger leans on the backrest while the vehicle is stopped, the backrest may collapse and the passenger may fall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the backrest locking mechanism with a corrected part.

状況
乗合バスの車椅子固定部に装着した折りたたみ式座席の背もたれ固定機構のロックピンの強度が不足しているため、背もたれが折りたたまれた状態から背もたれを起こす際に誤った操作を行うと、ロックピンが変形するものがある。そのため、背もたれを起こした時に、当該ロックピンがロックされないことがあり、背もたれが確実に固定されず、最悪の場合、停車時等に乗客が背もたれを支えにするなどした場合、背もたれが倒れ、乗客が転倒等するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該背もたれ固定機構を対策品と交換する。
