Defect

The screws securing the reservoir tank cap on the rear brake master cylinder were not tightened to the specified torque due to inadequate tightening instructions. Continued use allows these screws to loosen, causing brake fluid to leak. In the worst case, the reservoir tank may run dry, extending stopping distance.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect brake fluid level and check for leaks, clean as necessary, and retighten the screws to the specified torque. If the brake fluid level is low, replenish to the specified level.

状況

リヤブレーキマスタシリンダのリザーバタンクキャップを固定するスクリュにおいて、締付け作業指示が不適切なため、当該スクリュの締付けトルクが不足しているものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該スクリュが緩んでブレーキ液が漏れ、最悪の場合、リザーバタンク内のブレーキ液が無くなり制動距離が伸びるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、ブレーキ液の量と漏れを点検・清掃し、当該スクリュを正規のトルクで締付ける。なお、ブレーキ液が不足している場合はブレーキ液を規定量まで補充する。
