## What it is NOT

- Not a 17-digit VIN decoder — jdmvin works with the original Japanese chassis number (型式 + serial), not the export VIN.
- Not a specs/equipment database — it returns the factory grade name, not full equipment/color lists.
- Not an ownership/accident/odometer history service — those are not in MLIT's public dataset.
